Privacy Policy

The Bloat Guide does not collect your name, address or payment details, and does not sell personal information. Our host records standard technical data such as IP address and browser type, and affiliate links pass a tracking identifier that names us as the referrer, not you. This policy explains what happens to information when you visit The Bloat Guide (thebloatguide.online). We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal filler.
The short version
We do not ask you to create an account, we do not sell anything directly, and we do not collect your name, address or payment details. We cannot see who you are. We do use basic analytics to understand which pages people read, and we use affiliate links that tell the retailer we sent you.
Information collected automatically
Like virtually every website, our host records standard technical data when a page loads: your IP address, browser type and version, device type, the page you visited, the page that referred you and the time of the visit. This is used to keep the site working and to detect abuse. We may also use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to count visits and see which articles are useful. Where analytics is used, it reports aggregate patterns — not individuals.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We may use them for basic site function and for analytics. Affiliate networks and the retailers we link to may also set their own cookies when you click through, so that a purchase is credited to us. See our Cookie Policy for detail, and note that you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer may pay us a commission at no additional cost to you. Clicking such a link passes a tracking identifier to the retailer — it identifies us as the referrer, not you personally. Once you leave our site, the retailer's own privacy policy applies to whatever you do there, including anything you type into their checkout. We have no access to and no control over their systems.
Information you send us
If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to write, along with your email address. We use it to reply and nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list without you asking.
Third parties
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. Data may be processed by the service providers that make the site work — our web host, and any analytics provider we use. Each operates under its own privacy terms.
Children
This site is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the UK and EU, and the CCPA in California — you may have the right to request access to personal data held about you, ask for its correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. Because we do not operate accounts or collect identifying information, in most cases there is simply nothing held about you individually. If you would like to ask, contact us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
